Trung Nam Ca Na International Port Celebrates 1 Million Tons Milestone in Cargo Clearance
Trung Nam Ca Na International Port has recently welcomed its 1 millionth ton of cargo cleared through customs, marking a significant achievement for Vietnam's central coastal region logistics infrastructure.
Operating since April 2022, Ca Na Port has emerged as a crucial cargo transshipment hub in the South Central Coast region, effectively reducing pressure on Southeast Vietnam ports and Ho Chi Minh City maritime facilities.
Global Trade Gateway for Central Vietnam
Trung Nam Ca Na International Port receives vessels from worldwide destinations, handling diverse commercial goods. The port specializes in industrial commodities including granite, cement, and construction materials, supporting infrastructure development and industrial growth. This foundation creates favorable conditions for commercial shipping routes connecting Ninh Thuan province to global markets.
Massive Infrastructure Investment
The 5.6 trillion VND investment project, developed by Trung Nam Investment and Construction Joint Stock Company, spans over 85.5 hectares. The port features two multi-purpose terminals accommodating general cargo, containers, and bulk commodities with vessels up to 100,000 DWT capacity.
Operational Excellence and Growth
Phase 1 operations commenced in Q2/2022, with Terminal 1A currently operational while Terminal 1B remains under construction. The port leverages its deep-water capability for large vessels, achieving remarkable 4-fold cargo volume increase in 2023 (from 144,619 tons in 2023 to nearly 850,000 tons by December 2024).
Strategic Regional Development
Ninh Thuan province prioritizes transportation infrastructure investment in its southern key economic zone, emphasizing maritime port development. Phase 1 includes two berths accommodating 100,000 DWT vessels with 600-meter total berth length, requiring approximately 5.626 trillion VND total investment.
